The Hobart Language Day Committee started in 2014. It’s aim is to promote and celebrate the language diversity and multiculturalism in Hobart.

“I think that it’s really important to give the kids our mother tongue as a gift, and it is also very important to have and increase this linguistic richness in Tasmania and Australia, otherwise it will be lost for the next generations. The HLD has been a great experience and a big surprise to see many people interested in the celebration of languages, the spontaneity of the people and their enjoyment sharing their languages”.
