Tasmania’s Harmony Week kicks off!!!

19 March 2017

Events are happening across the state to celebrate diversity during the state’s second Harmony Week.

Tasmanians are being encouraged to take part in the state’s week-long multicultural celebration when it kicks off this Monday 20 March. Harmony Week events are taking place across Tasmania from 20 – 26 March to promote community harmony and celebrate Tasmania’s rich cultural diversity.

Multicultural Council of Tasmania, Harmony Week Coordinator Grace Walsh is excited to see the response from communities to Harmony Week.

“Harmony Week is for all Tasmanians, and you can see schools, workplaces and communities throughout the state getting behind the message that everyone belongs.”

“Harmony Week enables every Tasmanian to recognise and respect our differences and promote an environment that welcomes people of all cultures.”

“We encourage everyone to get involved in the celebrations and experience the benefits diversity brings to our state.

The Multicultural Council of Tasmania is coordinating Harmony Week activities and events with the support of the Tasmanian Government.
