The Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCOT) is the state-wide peak community organisation representing people from diverse cultural, linguistic and religious backgrounds. MCOT is a not for profit organisation promoting multiculturalism, community harmony and social justice and is involved in community education, lobbying and advocacy.
MCOT employs 5 part-time staff and has an office in the Multicultural Hub, Moonah, Hobart. It has 80 member organisations from which the Board is democratically elected.
The CEO of the organisation is taking extended leave in July and MCOT is recruiting for an Acting CEO to manage the Council, support the staff and advance a number of ongoing projects for a 4 month period. A specific and targeted work plan / brief for the 4 month period will be developed by the current CEO with a full handover briefing provided to the Acting CEO prior to commencement.
