Board Member

Eveleen arrived in Australia in the 1980s and had a diverse upbringing. She was born in Fiji Island and is of Indian heritage, with her father being North Indian (Hindu) and her mother South Indian (Catholic). She lived in Melbourne among a culturally diverse community before moving to Tasmania in 2003 with her husband and two sons.

Upon her arrival she was invited to be part of the Indian Cultural Society of Tasmania Inc. Since then, she has generously contributed her time to the functioning of the Association both in the background and as a Board member. She is a respected member of the Fiji Australia Association of Tasmania Inc and was also on the Board of Women’s Legal Services Tasmania Inc in 2019/2020.

Professionally, Eveleen currently runs a successful accounting/tax practice. Prior to this, she co-founded several successful Food outlets in Kingston, Huonville, and the CBD and organised numerous outdoor festivals and events, managing over 30 staff. She is passionate about helping individuals and businesses succeed in their personal and professional journey.

Eveleen’s vision has always been to see an inclusive Australia where everyone works on being conscious of their unconscious biases on order to eliminate even the subtlest acts of discrimination.
