The Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCOT) is delivering a new Campaign, Inclusive Tas, as part of Action 7 of Embracing Diversity, Fostering Belonging: Tasmania’s Multicultural Action Plan 2025–2029 (MAP). Supported by the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC), MCOT is developing resources that promote cultural safety, inclusion, and social cohesion across Tasmanian communities, government agencies, services, and businesses.
This project supports the goals of the Multicultural Action Plan by strengthening cultural awareness, sensitivity, and inclusion. It aims to address both conscious and unconscious bias to foster environments where everyone feels respected and safe. Our approach also aligns with the National Anti‑Racism Framework, which emphasises that while “diversity is a fact, inclusion is a choice”; meaningful inclusion requires deliberate action.

Inclusive Tas Podcast
We have been busy recording, meeting wonderful people, and having wonderful conversations. Our production team is formed by White Balance Production (Manish, Rojina and Deependra) as producers and videographers, and Ella Kennedy as Co-director. I want to thank all of them for their amazing commitment to this project.
We have been recording in several space throughout Tasmania. Our sincere gratitude to Print Radio Tasmania and Red Thread Studio (Tas Cahrd) for their generosity in welcoming us and our guest into these spaces.
We have also been recording in various libraries in Hobart, Glenorchy, Rosny, Launceston and Burnie. These libraries are the heart of community and a wonderful space for where everyone is welcome.

What we do
The Multicultural Council of Tasmania’s vision is of a culturally and linguistically diverse and harmonious Tasmania that is just, fair and inclusive – where people with diverse backgrounds have the opportunity to participate in and contribute to Tasmanian society.
