The multicultural Council of Tasmania is proud to launch a new program: Our bi-monthly community lunches. We are on the hunt for cooks from culturally diverse backgrounds to showcase their cooking skills by catering one of these events starting in July 2025.

We believe that community projects like this offer a safe welcoming place for people to connect over a freshly cooked meal. Our lunches are free making it accessible to all.

We are not expecting dishes that are complicated or fancy but nourishing and a celebration of heritage.

What we can offer:
• Renumeration for your time
• Funds to go towards purchasing of food items
• A brand-new commercial kitchen with all the tools you’ll need to start cooking
• Support in the lead up to your kitchen takeover
• Setup of the community lunch on the day

The following will be taken into consideration when selecting our cooks:
• A community group or small start startup business or social enterprise
• Has the means to provide their own support staff
• An individual or group who has experience in large scale cooking
• Can provide a starter and main, or main and dessert
• Has their food handling certificate
