Sansar Raj Chimauriya – Board Member

Sansar Raj Chimauriya – Board Member

My name is Sansar Raj Chimauriya, born and raised in Nepal and been living in Australia for the last 10 years and made Tasmania my Home since the last 5 years. I have experienced highs and lows of a migrant life, and I believe with a proper guidance and support, not all the new and existing migrants have to face the same barriers and challenges that most of us have experienced.

I am an advocate for Social Justice and equity. Along with an academic qualification in Accounting and Business administration, and currently employed with one of the Central Government Agency in Tasmania, I have always been advocating for the social harmony, equity, and development. My advocacy spans over various domains, including but not limited to, anti-discrimination, violence, social injustice, cultural exchanges, capacity building, etc of vulnerable and marginalised groups of the multicultural community that we live in.

During my service as the President of Nepali Society of Tasmania (Term 23-24), I have worked very closely with Multicultural Council of Tasmania, Migrant Resource Centre, TasPol, SAAS, Women’s Legal Service Tasmania etc. Among various organisations I worked with, I found MCOT serves as the best voice for the multicultural community and is open to serve everyone aiming to build a stronger and united community.

Hence, I submit my nomination for a Board Member at MCOT to serve the community in areas that matters most for all of us and to build a harmonious multicultural Island, Tasmania, our home.
